SO THIS IS THE NEW YEAR- GET A STYLISH START AND FILL IT WITH INSPIRED DESIGN

SO, this is the New Year. It is finally here. Full of great promise and potential, the calendar has advanced to January. I plan to travel to my favorite places frequently as well as discovering new ones, enjoying the multi culti experience that is New York City, and embracing sponteneity. For Stylebeat, I am planning a blog year of more great giveaways, stylish design, sharing talent and undiscovered covetable products that you will want in your life.
One of the best ways to plan your work and work your plan is to write it down, and then tell someone else about your goals. This is, apparently, one of the most effective ways to create change and stick-to-it-iveness. As an appreciator of letterpress and great graphic design, Linda and Harriet's Calendar/Postcards are on my desk to help me stay focused on making every day memorable. Penguins for January, and Popsicles for June will help me keep my eye on the prize.
So this is my plan:
to seek out new design obsessions, bring you new discoveries from the upcoming NY Gift Show, recap The Winter Antique Show, wait with anticipation for the new Architectural Digest every month, get excited for Lonny's Trad Home online-only Mag in May, cover new design books, be at the AD Home Show at Pier 94 come March and the DIFFA Event on March 17th, volunteer at The Kips Bay Designer Showhouse back on schedule this April, be inspired by The Aesthetic Movement 1860-1900 Retrospective at London's V and A Museum, get edgy with The Alexander McQueen Homage in May at the Met's Costume Institute, see creative combinations at Color Moves: Art and Fashion by Sonia Delaunay at the Cooper Hewitt in March, and submerse myself in history with American Style: Colonial Revival in the Modern Metropolis in June at the Museum of The City of New York.
What do you want to do this year?
