First off I wanted to say Thank you for all of your lovely comments on entertaining!  I always want to but it is hard to get everyone on board.  Maybe I need to just invite you guys over instead!  

As I am sure you have heard we are in the process of working on a big project for ourselves here.  We are putting in a pool and I am so excited about the possibilities.  I love the idea of lighting outside the pool, candles on the deck, lights in the trees so moody and beautiful when reflected in the water.  

Even though it is not the center of attention here I love it!

LUMINOUS LANTERNS

I love the ethereal glow masses of lanterns provide. When hung from varying heights in multiples, the effect makes a heavenly statement. Paper lanterns en masse have made the wedding decoration rounds, but this same idea also works well in a more permanent setting. World's Away has created a Ball Pendant from capiz shells, that when illuminated display the shell's patterns in the most wonderful glow. Why not hang them over a dining table or an entry for instant drama.

I adore these two dining rooms for their great sense of style.. so fun to mix it up don't you think.  I am not really a traditional person and I think that being able to use things that you truly love in this way is what makes a house a home.  Keeping it interesting is the point right?

Happy Saturday.... We are off to the Mart today in search of new pieces for the shop and projects that are coming this year, I will be sure to share my finds with you next week.  

I feel for both of these photos when I saw them on pinterest next to one another, rustic with a bit of luxury.  The light fixture is my all time favorite, which is why I put this one in our dining room!

working towards the dream...

 

I love all of the intricate details of Paris, I love that she stays there being beautiful just waiting for us to visit once again.  I have missed her this year!  We are planning a trip for Spring and I cannot wait to see how little she has changed!

Interior photography...

 

I think that among us there is a deep appreciation for quality artistic interior photography.  Even if we don't realize it the photography and often times the photographer are what make these spaces show in the best possible light.  It does take great styling and design I know that, but without the art of the photograph it is so hard to show it to the world, short of touring each and every space in person.

I love that a photo can capture light and depth in a space so beautifully.  So thank you to all of those interior photographers out there who make things oh so beautiful!

How has another week passed so quickly.  I could seriously loose a few days in this room if I tried.  Couldn't you just imagine reading with the natural light?
