SAIL TO SABLE TAKES YOU FROM YOUR CLOSET TO TABLE

The notion of an outfit inspiring a room and vice versa is not a new one, as Domino Magazine oft used the concept to define on-trend moments. Sail To Sable, a new company started by Darien-based Jennifer Stocker, the collection is made up of seashore-ready tunics, island-inspired pillows, and napkins and mats for summer idyls. The coordinating collection, whose name is inspired by the Eastern seaboard, from Maine to Florida, is fitting for casual coastal life. The collection debut has been met with raves, with trunk shows up and down the coast have provided the brand the chance to get a foothold in a market where polished classic basics are welcomed with open arms.

The Classic Cuteness combo of a skinny pink and white stripe and navy rick rack border

Set your table with the Classic Cuteness pink and white mats knowing you can flip to the reverse side when the mood strikes.

The napkins in pink white stripes and navy rick rack play with scale.

A bold awning stripe and whimsical rick rack border add a playful touch to an all-white sofa.

A double border of navy stripes complements a thick lime and white stripe in the Lively Lime Tunic.

Nautical Navy has classic seaside charm with a raised white circle border. The interplay is like a perfect navy blazer, it always looks right.

The reverse, Nantucket red version is perfect for Island living.

The napkins get a little playful with a Nantucket red fabric on the reverse.

From ship to shore, the Nautical Navy Tunic will keep you looking polished.

THE PERFECT SUMMER DRINK

When I heard that Belvoir, England's all-natural, small - batch  fizzy cockail - enhancing elixers were available stateside, I ran out and bought some. I headed to my local Williams-Sonoma and grabbed what enticed me. Their charming hand-written script label with bright background and tall bottle create a beautiful and alluring presentation. I have found I am totally smitten with the Belvoir Fruit Farm's Ginger Cordial, and have needed to restock my bar.
So what is a cordial, anyway? The process of making the drink syrup involves pressing, cooking and extracting the essences from fresh flowers, fruits and spices. Those are then mixed with local spring water to make the yummy bottled cocktail ingredient. Their Ginger Cordial, my favorite, includes a mixture of fresh and spicy ginger root syrup along with lemon. It makes the perfect Moscow Mule. Or try another popular version the Elderflower, which is available through Terrain. Add sparkling water, vodka, and the cordial over the rocks and you are on your way to an amazing evening. Yum.

SUMMER STARTS HERE: STAY COOL THIS MEMORIAL DAY

Finally! Time to get out the beach towels and spend as much time out of doors as possible. Every summer I find so many fantastic goodies for outdoor entertaining and a life if leisure that I want them all. Here are a few that have it made in the shade:

How great is this Venice Umbrella from World Market? The pattern is a little bit Peter Dunham a little bit Raoul Textiles.

With terry on one side and fabric on the other, this Roberta Roller Rabbit blanket/towel fills many functions. Take your pick: picnic or beach.

Instead of a hammock, try Pier 1's Swingasan Chair. A what? I know, but you will love it.

If your garden needs a dose of new Americana, then this light wood bench called The Dexter from West Elm is for you. It's a neo-Windsor Chair with clean lines and classic elements. Love it for inside or out.

If you need new chairs for eating outside, these Gallante Chairs, aluminum painted to look like bamboo, from Ballard Designs fit the bill. You would have to look for ages to find a vintage set like it, so save your time and spend it with a summer beach read instead.
