EASY PIECES: PALM BEACH STYLE AT C. BELL

Sometimes only the classics will do. These tried and true pieces loop back into design awareness every ten years or so, but they always have a place in traditional interiors. If you are looking to add a bit of polish and pieces with poise to you interior, there are a few key pieces Christine Bell is creating that I think you might like. With classic vintage appeal and a fresh coat of paint, these reproductions have style by the mile.  West Palm Beach's C. Bell has just launched a small collection, seen here.  Certain pieces have a back order time, but your clients will be happy to wait if it is the perfect piece, right?!

With elaborate details and carving, The Chippendale Side Chair has sufficient ornamentation to light up a room. I prefer solid upholstery on it as there is a lot going on already.

For a showstopper, lacquer red provides POW.

More designers are using the Elkins Style Loop Chair as a side chair in a seating arrangement. This one can come in any color, so go to town!

A true classic, the Cockpen Chair will always have a place around a sideboard, and pulled up to the dining room table.

I love etageres. This one can hold a lot with it's sturdy shelves.

A custom pedestal table with a ball base makes a perfect dining room table in a small space.

If your current bookcases are overflowing, try this Chinoiserie cabinet out, you can display objects and books equally well.

This bed has got it together- so chic, each side feels like it has its own roof.

LUSH LIFE: WHIMSICAL NEW ANTILLES PRINTS

Reviving the iconic 1960's printed textile designs of Amos Morrill, his daughter Lee Morrill-Harrington is sure to create another wave of interest in this particular resort style. Capturing the quaint aspects of island living, from the exotic flora and fauna to sealife, enter Antilles Designs. The brainchild of  the Antiguan-born interior designer, this bright new tropical collection brings the natural world in, with festive color combinations,  detailed renderings of leaves, flowers and sea creatures. The joyous, easygoing designs by her father were created from existing sketches and samples Morrill-Harrington recently happened upon in her father's Antigua loft. As an interior designer, she embarked on a path to create fresh and fun graphic prints in highly usable colors.  You can find the designs in the Gary McBournie Home Dering Hall storefront, as well as Studio 534 at the Boston Design Center and Webster & Company in Estero, Florida.  I have to thank Christine Bell from C. Bell in Florida for introducing me to the line, it is sure to please those wishing for the footloose and fancy free living island life provides.  Hey, has Jimmy Buffet seen these yet? I think he would approve.

STYLISH SHOPPING IN THE SUN: C. BELL IN WEST PALM

My recent trip down to Palm Beach was filled with fun in the sun, and of course, shopping! There is never enough time to hit all the great spots along Dixie Highway in West Palm, so I try and make a beeline to my favorites, that include C. Bell, Mecox Gardens, Lars Bolander, and closer to the bridge, Circa Who. Let's take a whirl around C.Bell, where the vivacious and fun Christine Bell has culled an exciting collection of bright accessories and vintage finds finished in glossy white with new upholstery at 4906 South Dixie Highway. It's Palm Beach Revival, ready to go.

This new bench with a cane back is a good piece for an entry.

Citrus hues and lime green pop against the white finishes with the mix of 1960's and 1970's finds.

Coordinating discoveries and repro, Christine's well edited selection makes shopping a breeze.

A little zebra looks just right with all white.

An endless trove of pieces to perk up an apartment or an entire house.

The sunny colors are irresistible.

A new desk is waiting for you.

In a room Christine as painted black as night, she hangs elaborate mirrors finished in white and the effect is dazzling.

Antlers lamps add a bit of fun.

Lattice backs and shells abound...
